Tuesday 17th March 2026
Where can we go to read stories?
We enjoyed an exciting visit to the local Bradley Stoke library this week. The children explored how a library works, learning how to look after books and how to choose stories they might enjoy.
Friday 27th February 2026
RE: Learning focus Lent is a time to grow closer to Jesus.
Live: We created a tray to show the animals and plants that are found in the desert.
We received a letter from Jesus asking us to spend time with Jesus over Lent and we
thought about where we would go to be closer to Jesus. We thought about what we may say to Jesus if we could have spoken to Him in the desert to make him feel less lonely.
We created some cactus cards to remind us of the time Jesus spent in the desert praying to God.
February 2026
We have enjoyed reading the Night Pirates this week and have enjoyed creating lots of pirate art work and counting the pieces of pirate treaure carefully.
Re Reception Knowledge Organiser - Term 3
Term 3 - RE
Live: We looked at the ingredients for making bread and talked about how it is made. In small groups we made bread to share with others and said thank you to God before we ate it. We really enjoyed making our own dough.
During Buddy time with our year 6 friends we were being engineers and created some weaving baskets.
Term 3 - 2025
RE - Learning focus: I know Jesus welcomes everyone
Believe: We explored how Jesus came for everyone and we are very special to him and that he wants us all to come to him.
We thought about how talking to God is called praying. We reflected on where are the special places that we can be close to Jesus.
Live: We went around our school and looked for special places where we can be close to Jesus and thought about how to make others welcome into our classroom.
Term 2 - 2025
RE - Learning focus: I know Jesus came for the whole world
Believe – We revisited how God sent Jesus to earth to be born as a baby in Bethlehem. Jesus came to bring his light for the whole world. Jesus wanted everyone to know about his love for them.
Explore – We looked at a map of the world to see where some of our families come from. We continued to explore how people celebrate the birth of Jesus around the world. Another tradition, from India, is that people make Kuswar treats to celebrate Christmas. They are important treats which are shared with friends and family. We made some of our own decorative treats and role-played sharing them with our friends.

What is darkness?
We explored how light and dark were important for living things. We talked about how the dark makes us feel and buillt dens to reduce light.
Term 2 - Our Final Challenge:
We made a cosy den out of junk modelling for a dormouse
