Administrative Assistant Hay 10

27 hours per week, Term-Time, plus two INSETs

We are looking to appoint an administrative assistant to our busy and welcoming office. The working hours are Monday, Wednesday and Thursday 8.30am-4.00pm and 1.00-4.00pm on Tuesdays and Fridays. This will be term time only, plus two INSET days.

The post involves a wide range of administrative tasks and reception duties. They include daily registers, answering telephone calls, communication with parents via email and text and the administration of after-school clubs.  Knowledge of SIMS and online communications software (especially ParentMail) would be an advantage.

We are looking for someone who:-

  • Has excellent literacy, numeracy and ICT skills;
  • Has experience of working in a busy school or office environment;
  • Be able to exercise absolute discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality both within and beyond the school;
  • As the first point of contact for many visitors and staff, has the ability to be resilient and tactful in all situations;
  • Excellent communication and time management skills, with ability to adapt to the role;
  • Works well in a team, as well as using initiative when working independently;
  • Is professional at all times and able to work under pressure;
  • Is friendly, has a great sense of humour and is sensitive to the needs of others.
