St George's CLASS - RECEPTION

Welcome to Reception - Mrs Sullivan and Mrs Turnbull's class.

Please see below a topic overview of what we will be learning in Term 6, along with curriculum overview for the year.

16th June 2017

Reception had a great time at Caerphilly Castle yesterday. A knight from the ‘Olden times’ taught us all about Castle Life and let us dress up as all the different people. The hats were so funny! Then, after a sunny picnic, we explored every nook and cranny of the Castle. We loved going up and down the spiral staircases and finding all the hidden rooms! An exhausting but fun day had by all!

5th May 2017

St George's Class have had a very creative Forest Friday today making tree clay faces. There were some cute animal faces, some pretty flowery faces and even some angry pirate faces. Look out for them next time you’re on the field!

15th December 2016

2nd December 2016

Reception took a stroll through the deep dark wood! We had great fun ‘Going on a stick hunt!’, listening to the ‘Stickman’ Story and then finally making our own Stickmen to take home with us.

Tuesday 18th October

Following on from our buddy trip to the Bird Park on Wednesday, the Reception class learnt about how to look after birds and what they like to eat. We decided to make some bird feeders to give the birds around the school a tasty lunch! We cut up some bread and apples and thread them onto a wire along with some juicy raisins. Yum Yum!

Friday 23rd September

The Reception children went hunting for mini-beasts during this weeks Forest Friday. They did a great job and found snails, pond skaters, woodlouse, spiders and even a newt!
